When vocalist Talia Mays of the L.A. based quartet Golden Ratio took an extended break from the Los Angeles area, the remaining members were left with a void. Mike Hayungs (guitar/vocals/keys), Jerami Mennella (bass) and Taylor Kennedy (drums) filled the vacuum left by their departed singer the only way they knew how… more fuzz, harder hitting rhythms and an overall bigger sound. Deep Sleep Ops formed out of necessity, mixing early 90’s sonics, late 60’s psychedelic and a thirst for jump up, big pocket rhythm. Shoegazey vocals reel in the band's blown out guitar assaults and burn-out head bobbers are driven with Hendrix like sensibilities.
