Tall Buildings, the eagerly awaited, fourth full-length album from singer/songwriter, piano rocker Gabriel Mann will be released September 4, 2007. Mann and band will play the new record in its entirety September 8, 9pm, at the legendary Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles, CA.

Mann produced Tall Buildings with renowned indie producer and artist Linus of Hollywood (Charlatans UK, Puff Daddy, OPM). The record was mixed by Dave Trumfio (Wilco, Rilo Kiley, Ok Go) and comes out under Mann’s new Parkhill Records label in conjunction with Franklin Castle Recordings. Tall Buildings is Mann’s most ambitious and sonically satisfying album to date, complete with ten new songs, a remarkable cover of Alan Parsons Project’s “Eye in The Sky,” and a bonus track version of his mega success “OK Alone.”

Hailing from San Antonio, Gabriel Mann released his debut album Careen in 1999, and has since become a fixture in the Los Angeles music scene.

Mann’s 2005 eponymous album earned him an opening slot on Alanis Morissette’s European tour, multiple song placements in shows like Hidden Palms (CW), What About Brian (ABC), Real World (MTV), Road Rules (MTV), and Newport Harbor (MTV), and in films like the upcoming Sydney White, as well as Sleepover and Office Space. Mann was the resident songwriter for Fox’s critically acclaimed Arrested Development, and his music can also be heard in the Spyro video game series and the forthcoming TimeShift (Vivendi Universal). Rounding out his efforts, Mann also recently produced Sara Bareilles’ (Epic) Careful Confessions album.

Tall Buildings presents Mann in a new light, with a multi-layered, more intricate sound, one which more accurately reflects the energy of his live band. Mann’s voice is unmistakable, and his songs poignant and universal, resonant as ever.

In “Slow Motion,” about the reunion of two old friends who never quite connected romantically, Mann waxes nostalgic. “Talking to a Ghost” is a wry look at the life of a wallflower. “Eight Feet Tall” and “Fine With Me” showcase Mann’s signature emotional power, while “Ride” and “Naughty Girl” are uptempo and catchy. Mann brings the album full circle and expands his songwriting and production horizons with the title track, “Shadows of Tall Buildings,” an ode to New York City.

“I’ve always felt comfortable in New York,” says Mann. “And the title track reflects feelings I’ve often had there. Tall Buildings represent our greatest expectations. Sometimes we fulfill them, sometimes not – sometimes we are relegated to the shadows, sometimes we are able to rise above.”
