"fly by night:" Informal. adj. 1. Unreliable or unscrupulous, especially with regard to business dealings.
The fly.by.nights are a new band in Los Angeles, dedicated and focused on creating intensely honest and exciting rock and roll music. Having formed in late 2009, the band is striving to create a heavy-hitting, fresh, and new sound within the parameters of time-tested, true, and passionate (and so-called) 'classic' rock, recalling a more enthusiastic and rollicking time in rock history. It is clear that the fellas have more than put in their time with dusty vinyl and aged 45s, drawing upon a wide range of influences from Piedmont blues to swing jazz to create their own music. The group are steadfast and unabashed about the influence 60s rock and pop have over their ultimate sound, due in large part because of the unique sound they are able to realize.
The group's principal members call the midwest, the east coast, and the south home, converging upon LA to realize their potential under the auspicious glare of the California sun. With movie soundtrack work, studio sessions, touring, and multiple band residencies under their collective belt (which, as it happens, holds up their collective trousers), the boys have pooled their talents and experience into a rock and roll collective, one that is immediately distinguishable and earnestly felt. The Fly-By-Nights share a common love for everlasting and durable rock and roll, and they all share a passionate desire to make some exciting, heavy, and loud sounds all their own.
