About
The Furious Seasons is the new band of longtime indie artists David and Jeff Steinhart. Over the course of 20 years and nearly as many albums with Pop Art and Smart Brown Handbag, the brothers have been making literate, melodic, guitar pop music. The Furious Seasons continues the tradition with the emphasis acoustic instruments and a folk flavor. Thanks for listening.

Following a line of underrated (but critically acclaimed) acts like The Go-Betweens and Crowded House is The Furious Seasons. Having toiled at their craft in such bands as Pop Art and Smart Brown Handbag, Jeff and David Steinhart offer up some very smart, highbrow melodic pop beginning with the delectable tune "The Upside" and the equally tender "Put It Down". The songs are very short but draw one in without any hesitation, bringing to mind the likes of Michael Penn or the Connells to a lesser extent. The group slightly increases the tempo with "So Long Great City" with it's murky guitar work and almost criminally sweet harmonies. It's difficult to pick one gem but the standouts include the gentle slow building "Back To This Side" which glides along perfectly. At times the band brings an acoustic folksy-leaning Elvis Costello to mind, particularly during "Backseat Driving". But throughout it all, The Furious Seasons are adept at crafting timeless melodic pop. Popmatters

The Furious Seasons gets inside your skin, you head, your heart-and rummages around, affecting you in emotional areas you've maybe shunned aside since the last time you heard your favorite tracks by the likes of The Frames, The Go-Betweens, The Kings of Convenience, Sun Kil Moon, Wilco or The Innocence Mission. It's a record so replete with memorable melodies and ultimately, insidiously haunting sentiments, that you've simply got to submit to its carefree sincinerty, its earnest craft masquerading as nonchalance.

They showcase quietly beautiful,super-literate songs of longing and despair, hope and transcendence. A collection of tunes with nothing to prove, nothing to lose, and everything to say. Not Lame Music

Excellent vocals, perhaps even anachronistic as far as Steinhart is concerned, where he may have found himself perfectly at home in Fairport Convention....We're radio worth a shit, it'd find its polished way there. Foxy Digitalis
