Born blue in twenty-minutes, singer/songwriter/DJ Eric Maroldo grew up fast in a small Iowa town without stop lights.
Traveling and living in Belgium and Montreal, he spent thousands of hours in recording studios listening and watching musician friends.
After DJ’ing at the Viper Room for two years, “I knew I’d play, but it took letting go of the fear. That’s where the The One And The Other comes from: the adoration of life’s perpetual duality between love and fear.“
In 2007, he recorded a demo with friends in Montreal; then returned in 2008 to record the rest of the songs for the album Montreal MM:0110, produced by longtime fixture of the Montreal music scene, DJ/producer DEE .
While the Montreal band is home, the songs travel, and Maroldo created the LA contingency who play out of a downtown after-hours club where he DJ’s.
“The sound of The One And The Other’s live set benefits from the talent of an eager group of artists who bring great depth to driving rhythms and tight melodies and Maroldo's vocals wrap each composition with an ominously patient pulse.”
